![]() ![]() PIerce 1 can be used on almost every monster while Pierce 2 and 3 are better for bigger monsters so all the hits connect. This means it's possible that you need recoil down skills when using pierce 2 or 3 when it's not needed for pierce 1. Pierce 2 and 3 require lower recoil than Pierce 1.Pierce 1 ends up having more leeway with critical distance than the other two pierce lvs because it only hits 3 times. ![]() That means you can be in critical distance for the 1st hit but be outside critical distance for the last. Each hit in Pierce has its own Critical Distance.Pierce 1 does 3 hits x 9 damage, Pierce 2 does 4 hits x 7 damage, and Pierce 3 does 5 hits x 7 damage for starters.Between the 3 lvs of pierce, pierce lv 1 is used the most for a few reasons: Heavy Bowgun usually uses Pierce Shots as they do a lot of damage and hits inside the monster which at times has better hitzones than the outside of the monster. If you use HBG in XX, I fully recommend using brave style. Edit: Brave reload allows your shots to fill up the brave gauge faster and like power reload from adept hbg, it boosts damage by 1.05x. When you see a spark on your gun and/or hear a click, press X to do the fast power reload. You start your brave sheathe then start the reload. Brave power reload acts like an active reload (from gears of war). Brave style has easy access to power reload.Update: In Brave mode: Roll out of siege and slide essentially have evasion +2 ( Roll Tests). The dps increase from this is very significant as if heavy bowgun didn't have enough dps before brave siege mode. ![]()
